Local energy trading feasibility study

As one of a number of ways to explore increasing investment in solar photovoltaics, NAGA have commissioned a study on the feasibility of local energy trading (LET) for Council buildings.

The LET review examined the feasibility of Victorian Councils trading locally generated electricity within their respective building portfolios, and assesses the high-level costs and benefits of LET across a range of scenarios.

This study sought to understand under what scenarios LET becomes technically and commercially feasible for Councils wanting to increase solar on their buildings and net the electricity use off in smaller buildings not suitable for the solar required to power them.

The final feasibility study is available here. An Excel-based tool for Council's to use their own data to calculate the feasibility of LET under different scenarios is available to Council's here.
